It turns out that it’s mandatory for every person in our department at work to go on a “manual handling course” which, apart from sounding like masturbation lessons, is a two hour course that will teach us poor dumb old folk how to lift and carry stuff.
I’m in my thirties and, for a large portion of my time alive, I’ve been lifting things up and setting them down in a different location with no ill effects. However, a proven track record in the lifting and carrying sector and being a human being with a brain are not sufficient for the cotton wool brigade and apparently a two hour course is all that can prevent me and my colleagues from experiencing at any moment a catastrophic spinal clusterfuck.
What is wrong with you people?
